Does that mean that copywriting isn't vitally important? Or that everything you've been taught is wrong?
No, it doesn't. But it does mean that there's a lot of misleading, self-serving nonsense being peddled online by self-taught, self-proclaimed copywriting "gurus" who, in most cases, got lucky a few times and thought it meant that they know everything about copywriting (like the proverbial sausage that thought it was the butcher, or the PC owner who thinks that, because they buy a copy of MS Publisher, they're a graphic designer).
There's a bit more to it than that. But there's another unrecognized FACT that fools many would-be copywriters:
The "make money from home on the Internet " niche is the easiest audience of all to sell to, even with atrociously bad copy.
This is why so many people claim to be copywriting "Gurus" in Internet marketing. They just don't realize that any fool can sell water to someone dying of thirst. (Even when the water is polluted and unsafe to drink.)
It does NOT qualify them as copywriting professionals. And as for them being qualified to teach it… are you serious?
